I sighed audibly with relief as I was finally able to sit down with my laptop that night, and saw the notification of her message waiting. but not in nearly the proportion as I’d expected to see based on experience from the rest of the internet. Maybe more importantly still, she’d asked if I’d be willing to give her more detailed feedback on the story I’d read, to tell her what it was I liked most, and if there was anything I thought she could have done better.
