“How?” I asked as I surveyed the wreck that was my grandfather’s office. “You guys see anything interesting?” I asked my security detail. Never mind that half the people at Marduke called her that, too, but that’s what I called her… this guy didn’t get to call her that. I can’t remember. Only one of them’s armed.”
“Strangers just broke into Colin’s house?” I asked. “You fucked up the board!”
“I don’t give a fuck!” the angry man shouted back. “You said one of them is armed?”
“Quentin’s bodyguard,” Chloe said. “You didn’t know about this?” I turned back toward the door to see Quentin leaning against the wooden frame, staring listlessly into the room.
