I kissed her lips gently, held them there for a moment as she kissed me back, and then moved away so I could see her eyes. I opened the door. “What would you like?” I said, not bothering to turn around. “Well, I guess I should make up the bed in the guest room if you want to stay here.”
“I don’t want to impose. I must have had a pretty guilty expression on mine. Now, how about making us some coffee?”
I followed her down to the kitchen. If you’re not, I’d still like to be your friend.” She came to me and hugged me. “Not her illness. She knew I was developing some pretty strong feelings for her, but she told me that she couldn’t commit to a long-term relationship. “I guess the video’s re-starting. She kissed me. The young woman across the hall could be the daughter I never knew I had. That would make my attraction toward her at least marginally acceptable.
